Welcome
I was eight in 1974. I started cleaning doctors' offices to make money to buy my cub scout uniform. Work lasted longer than scouts. Just as well because today the scouts don't want me or any gay man for that matter. But, I've never stopped working and now do so for a national non-profit. Hopefully making the world a more inclusive place and appreciative of our cultural and language diversity. But that's my day job and only a part of who I am. This blog is a way of expressing more of me. That part that's been trapped in the work, school, parent obligation-filled world. So, welcome to this other aspect of me far from the to do lists and deadlines. This is where my authentic thoughts finally escape and are heard. One request of you, the reader -- let me hear from you. Thanks for reading and being interested.

I agree with you about the Scouts not being accepting of diversity; it is such a shame and I hope in the future things change. Working for a non-profit adds to your list of credentials of being an open-minded, authentic person. I look forward to reading your entries.
Take care,
Jack
